Images I took on Film during the Ernst Workshop / Snake

As we were hiking into the Kings River area, someone in the group had sharp eyes and noticed this little guy next to the trail.  He was only about 6 inches long.  We think it is a ground rattler...is there anyone out there who can identify it?  I shot this handheld with a 105mm Macro lens.  I was about a foot away from him.  He was pretty patient with our group until Tim set up his tripod and started to take a real picture of him.  Off he went...such is the life of the nature photographer.  This picture could have been better if I could have gotten a couple of the distracting elements out of the way.  I wasn't in a big hurry to stick my hand down next to him ;)
